In a drab office with one table, a few chairs and a booth where the hostage Mr. Van Doesburg is quietly sitting out with a beer and newspaper nearby. In the meantime, the three kidnappers, Van der K., Van de E. and Van N., argue whether the message to the outside world should be a press release or a manifesto.
The three characters are clearly looking for an identity, not knowing what their place is in this society.
They have in common that modern life is not what they want.
